Farmers Mutual Agency Training Session February 4, 2009
Farmers Mutual hosted an agency training session for our new software on February 4, 2009. The meeting was very well attended and we appreciated the comments and questions those in attendance presented.
Vineet Arora, our contract programmer lead the training session and did an excellent job of presenting information and demonstrating the operation of the new release.
Farmers Mutual released Insco.Net Version 2.0 on March 2, 2009. The conversion and release went rather well considering the number of database, programming, and server conversion issues involved in the release.
The new software has many new features that was not available on the prior software. We also devoted a lot of time to the flow and layout of the screens. As with any change there is a learning curve in becoming familiar with the software and the operation of the software.
Our underwriters will be visiting many of the agencies offices over the next couple of months to offer any assistance and training if needed on the new release.
If you have any questions or comments please contact us. If you require any assistance please contact us and we can do on-line training or assistance to help you.

Farmers Mutual Offers Identity Recovery Coverage For Personal Lines and Farmowners
Farmers Mutual Insurance Company announced it has added identity recovery coverage to its homeowners, mobile homeowners, dwelling fire and farmowners policies that combines identity theft insurance with services that help identity fraud victims restore their credit history and identity records.
The program provides services to help identity theft victims clear their credit history and repair their identity records. In addition, identity theft insurance can reimburse victims for costs they incur to resolve problems resulting from identity theft.
“Standard identity theft insurance makes the victim responsible for doing the work to restore their credit and identity records,” said David L. Corsini, II, President & CEO of Farmers Mutual Insurance Company. “Most people are unfamiliar with this process and find it confusing and exasperating. Our approach lifts this burden for all steps that a third party can legally perform on a victim’s behalf. That helps reduce the stress and lost time related to being an identity theft victim.”
Farmers Mutual Insurance Company’s program focuses on recovery assistance because most identity theft victims report the real cost is the frustrating and time consuming process to repair the
damage. According to a Federal Trade Commission report published in September 2003, identity theft victims in the United States spent almost 300 million hours resolving their problems in the year.
Farmers Mutual Insurance Company customers have access to a toll-free help line where they can get answers to questions and obtain information about identity theft. Victims of identity theft involving new fraudulent accounts are referred to a case manager who is available to provide services to correct their credit history and identity records on their behalf, significantly reducing the time the victim needs to devote to the process.
The insurance component covers out-of-pocket costs that the insured incurs in repairing credit history and identity records. These include certain legal fees caused by identity theft, wages lost as a result of time taken away from work to correct identity theft problems; credit bureau reports; the cost of fees incurred when applying for loans initially declined due to falsified credit information; and telephone and shipping fees.
